Recognition of Interstate Appointments
NSW automatically recognises Enduring Guardianship Appointments made in other states and territories. You can ask the Enduring Guardian to produce a copy of their recognised appointment for verification when involving them in decision-making. It is particularly important to confirm the areas of decision-making authority to ensure appropriate decisions are made by the guardian.
Contact details for interstate guardianship agencies and tribunals can be found on the Australian Guardianship and Administration Council website.
