What Can I Do If I Am Worried About Elder Abuse?

Do you know someone who may be experiencing abuse?

Talking to the person about their situation is an important first step.  There are many services that can give you information and support if you are worried about an older person.  However, you must have the person’s permission to share their private information.  You can start by contacting your doctor, health professional or the local Aged Care Assessment Team for general information and advice on what to do.

Are you experiencing violence or abuse?

It can be difficult to talk about your experiences, or you might be worried about what will happen if you tell someone about the abuse.  You are not alone and there are people who can help you.  You can start by contacting your doctor, health professional or the local Aged Care Assessment Team for help.
